When Tou-Roa Ecology approached Emily, they were relying solely on industry recognition and referrals to bring in work. But they struggled to communicate their value to a broader audience.
Referrals are great – they’re a sign you can successfully deliver. The problem is you can’t control the quality or quantity you get. Tou-Roa needed to look beyond this model and build awareness of their business.
The first step in this journey was to define what makes them unique and valuable. Next, Emily used a combination of words and visuals to communicate this.
Words clarify what they do, why it matters to their ideal client, and how to take the next step. Visuals bring this to life, embodying who they are and making their message far more convincing.
Their brand identity reflects their combination of specialised expertise and down-to-earth practicality. At the centre is a generous amount of moss green – a deep, warm hue that alludes to getting your hands dirty, while still feeling sophisticated. To evoke premium quality, their business cards are printed on a thick, sturdy paper that matches their brand colour and has a gorgeous texture.
The site design is clean and straightforward, with line motifs creating a pragmatic and slightly technical feel. A sans serif with subtle quirks adds a touch of warmth.
“Emily has a great way of incorporating your own ideas with her experience in design in order to produce excellent work. I am super happy with not only our branding, but the ongoing control over our website that Emily ensures, and the whole process she has developed – from initial contact to final handover, everything was collaborative.”
